“After visiting the Renishaw Coastal Precinct in April 2023, the CEO of the South Coast Tourism and Investment Enterprise (SCTIE), Phelisa Mangcu, undertook to arrange a visit from the DTIC to our Precinct. This visit was realized on the 29th of May 2023, when Thami Klassen, Director at the DTIC visited us at Renishaw. Our Precinct plans, together with our initiative to donate a portion of land to the KC Trust was well received by the DTIC, and our Precinct was duly included in the Eastern Seaboard Initiative (also known as the Presidential Smart City Initiative). This inclusion allows for the setting up of a steering committee that will assist with the removal of Governmental red tape and project blockages. The above-mentioned introduction, and the subsequent collaboration between the DTIC and Renishaw Property Developments has been a very positive experience and we believe that this is only the start of a long and impactful collaboration demonstrating the value of private-public partnerships”.
