SCTIE INVESTMENT NEWSLETTER | March 2024 |
KEEPING YOU UP TO DATE ON THE SOUTH COAST #UnlimitedOpportunities TO INVEST |
Welcome to the first newsletter of 2024! The year is already well underway and our team has hit the ground running, implementing strategies, collaborating with stakeholders, and finding innovative ways to unlock investment and facilitate business in Ugu District. |
This quarter, we were excited to unveil one of our biggest investment initiatives yet, the Ugu District One Stop Shop Investor Workshop. Hosted by ourselves in partnership with Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN), the workshop was an opportunity to introduce local businesses to our various One Stop Shop (OSS) services and engage directly with business owners on the support structures that exist. Investors and the OSS partners – including EDTEA, Ithala, Agency of Food Safety, and Tourism Grading were in attendance – with SMEs given a platform to showcase their products and engage with workshop attendees. |
Our Buy Local drive continues to grow, with more and more local businesses enjoying the benefits of the free membership and the business support afforded them. With each new connection, the Buy Local structure is strengthened, providing consumers with better local offerings, and businesses with better support. |
We will continue this momentum throughout the year, promoting Ugu District’s many investment opportunities while forging networks and partnerships that strengthen this value chain. |

One Stop Shop (OSS) Investor Workshop |
On 30 January, we welcomed local businesses to Port Shepstone Civic Centre under Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality for the Ugu District One Stop Shop (OSS) Investor Workshop. Hosted in partnership with Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN), the workshop gave local businesses insight into the services offered by the Ugu District OSS various government departments – including those under the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), Ithala, Agency of Food Safety, and Tourism Grading – to assist them and contribute to the economy of the area. |

Our app undergoes daily updates through a single Content Management System. This ensures continuous growth – alongside the 100 changes to the website. |

Due to the overwhelming response, we had to the last Push Notification and internal mailer to local establishments asking for their listing updates, we have opted to send out POPI-compliant communication once a month. |
